Welcome to ShadowNet, a website that I created and dedicated to the Amber DRPG nearly twelve years ago.
What started out as the creation of an over-enthusiastic NPC in an Amber DRPG campaign that I was running while living in Iowa City, IA became for some time a pleasant creative (and idealistic) diversion from my real-life endeavors.
It has been quite a while now since I've really done anything with ShadowNet. I've been busy with any number of other creative projects, Amber DRPG campaigns included, and I just never made it back here to keep the site fresh. To tell the truth, I haven't really even thought about ShadowNet much since my wife and I moved to New York State so that she could attend Cornell University.
Now, however, we are on our way back to the great Midwest. The looming move and our return to our gaming roots, as it were, have recalled my attention to ShadowNet.
Looking at the information I've kept available for so long, I am somewhat embarrased at the quality of some of the works but, at the same time, I look back at how proud I was with my work, and that of ShadowNet's contributors, and I cannot take it down.
I hope that you find the information here on ShadowNet interesting, helpful and inspirational to your own roleplaying gaming (ADRPG or otherwise). Perhaps someday soon, I will finally get back here to add some new material.

ShadowNet is meant to be a resource for players and gamemasters of the Amber DRPG, and an open forum for the free exchange of ideas and information.
We hope that there are others in the Amber gaming community interested in these concepts and willing to submit their ideas to ShadowNet for these purposes.
If you would like to become a ShadowNet contributor please e-mail me at jadettman[at]gmail[dot]com.
It seems that there is a software issue with ShadowNet's forums; potential users may discover that they are unable to log in. I am attempting to fix the situation but, currently, I am also incapable of logging in. Not being a programmer, finding a back-end solution may take me some time. I will, of course, announce when, or if, the situation is resolved.

Marc Craven
Marc lives a relatively boring life in Ellisville, MS. where he works as a draftsman at Howard Ind. He does enjoy Amber but doesn't get to play much.
J.A. Dettman
Jason is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in English. He currently lives in Ithaca, NY where he spends most of
his free time gaming and acting as the Publisher, Editor and Head Writer for Cracked Mirror Publishing.
Shawn Entsminger
Shawn has been walking the shadows in Amber since 1992, and actually manipulating them since 1994 in locales such as GenCon, AmberCon, and GamiCon.
An avid gamer since 1981, he has been trying VERY hard to entice, torment and amuse gamers since then. Recently he has been experimenting with various
"homebrew" games and rules alterations which at least keep him happy. Most recently he started an annual campaign at AmberCon 5, with segments following
at the following GenCon's with Co-GM Ahmad Abdel-Hameed. All of his contributions to the Bestiary are collaborations with The Turk.
CelesStar aka Sarah Holding
Sarah is a junior in High School, works at Burger King on the weekends (would you like fries with that?) and lives in a very boring town in the San
Francisco Bay Area. She's like to go to college (Berkley or Santa Cruz) and major in Japanese.
Leslie Lightfoot
Leslie has been RPGing for over 22 years with ocassional forays into the wilderness of GMing. She has been PBeMing since autumn 1997 with wilderness
excursions there are well. Other hobbies include SF&F - both reading and writing, web design, and talking about herself in the third person.
She's survived 40 years of the honorable combat known as life and is ecstatically shacking up with her husband of 16 years in Washington (the state), USA. She has a twelve-year-old son destined to stamp Tokyo into the ground. And when not typing on the computer at home, she is typing on the computer at work as a minion of dark... make that a Sales Support Associate for the evil em... a large Insurance company. (sigh)
Jimmy 'Gregor' McKinney
Jimmy has been an Amber fan since about 91-92, when a co-worker at Wendy's introduced him to the books.
Erik Purins
Erik studies game design at Cogswell College. His wife Carrie and their chaos-wielding Basenji are fellow alumni of the University of Wisconsin.
Purins has forsaken all other forms of roleplaying since 1990.
Britt Scharringhausen
Britt is another graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.S. in physics and astronomy. She currently attends Cornell University as a graduate student
in astronomy. She has been known to read copy and make vague promises of future contributions to ShadowNet. But she has no free time, so don't hold your
breath.
Paula Schneider
The They Might be Redheads gaming group
The group is made up of John Chapman, Jason Dettman, Amy Long, Dani and Will Rotach and Britt Scharringhausen. This group gets together Sunday afternoons
to game Amber and just hangout. Things often digress into amusing anecdotes some of which may appear on ShadowNet.
The Masks, Lies & Deceptions and Hard Lessons gaming group
The group is made up of JP Brannan, John Chapman, Jason Dettman, Dan Hertz, Amy Long, and Britt Scharringhausen. This group gets together Sunday afternoons
to game Amber and just hangout. Things often digress into amusing anecdotes some of which may appear on ShadowNet.
