Like a cool drink of water in the desert. . .

We finally got internet access and cable tv hooked up at our new apartment about four hours ago. A week without internet, television or a library card really kind of sucked.

Tomorrow the POD arrives. Then we get furniture; furniture and lots of boxes.

Welcome back to the world of the connected. Life without internet connection is indeed difficult. My connection at my new place is still pretty iffy. Hopefully the wireless will be working in more than just my closet soon… On the other hand, I’ll be at work more from now on, so I’ll be online more in any case.

And yes, moving does indeed suck. Glad to hear you made it there relatively unscathed, though. Good luck unpacking the PODS.

I don’t know, a few days ago I think I would have been very happy with internet in just my closet. 😉

    Man, I’m still catching up!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing how the contents of the POD have shifted. I’m sure the update will be riveting. 🙂

I hope the bed and couch haven’t shifted too much in transport. I told you that you needed friends who were better with ropes. Like people into S&M, or possibly practical engineering.

Did you end up setting off bug bombs before you left?

Oh, and I’m totally still catching up on news online. I didn’t know that GoO had officially closed up shop, for instance. I have weeks and weeks worth of posts to contemplate reading through on the ASOIAF fora. But will I actually do it? Probably not.

Yeah, I was going to ask you if you’d heard about GoO. Sad news.

As for the POD, there wasn’t really that much shifting; just enough to make it hard to open the door the first time. I think the rope-tying we had did the trick fine.

No bug-bomb but the bugs all seemed to be dead anyway (so far).
