I am a big fan

I am a big fan of services or programs that help people find like-minded individuals, especially when those people are gamers.

The latest discovery in this vein is NearbyGamers, a clever little set-up based on Google Maps (I can’t take any credit here, I found the site by reading Treasure Tables).

My favorite (when it’s working which, sadly, doesn’t seem to be all that often) is FindPlay.

Ah, if only I was any good with programming, I could make one of these myself.

EDIT, A few more services: Not gaming specific but could be useful if you’re willing to shell out the money. The Amber Diceless Frappr, a map set-up similar to NearbyGamers.

Let me know what you like more about FindPlay and I’ll steal some of their features for NearbyGamers. 🙂 I tried to check it out, but it’s down now.

I think that NearbyGamers actually incorporates most of the features that Findplay has with the addition of the cool Google Map feature too.

You’ve done a great job! Keep it up! 🙂
