Weekend in Minneapolis

Went to Minneapolis for the weekend to visit Camille. The car broke down on the drive to Lansing on Thursday and we ended up spending an hour in the Prairie Du Chien McDonald’s waiting for a ride.

Friday, after finding a garage that wasn’t too busy to tell me that the car needed a new alternator, I spent several hours bumming around PDC while they arranged for a replacement and fixed the car. Visited the local library, watched Hancock at the theater, and probably walked about five miles in the process. Happily, the garage actually got the car fixed when they said they would and I was off to Minneapolis by 2pm.

Camille had her boys, Robert and Jacob, for the weekend so much of our time was spent wrangling them, though we did get to have Camille’s friend Tanya over on Saturday to play a couple games of China and a game of Power Grid on my new France/Italy map. All of which was, of course, fine as I visit Minneapolis just to hang out with Camille.

Sunday we had brunch and then I headed home, with a short stop to pick up Britt in LaCrosse. The drive home was relatively calm and free of car repairs.

When we got home Britt and I watched all three episodes of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog, which was, as expected, good. That Joss Whedon does seem to know what he’s doing, though I do wish he’d get over that little fetish he seems to have developed. If you’ve seen the Dr. Horrible episodes you know what I’m talking about. I won’t spoil it for the rest of you.
