Well, I am opinionated . . .

This morning I awoke to thoughts about what I’m good at. This is one of those cyclical things that happens relatively frequently as, you know, I still don’t know what I want to do with my life (other than game a lot, which isn’t really a career).

One of those thoughts was that I’m apparently pretty good at telling other people what I think of something, usually a good or service that I’ve come into contact with. So, maybe I should be a critic?

I could write reviews about things I’m interested in, help others find useful/fun gadgets/games/books and steer clear of the crap. Kind of like what I do in the monthly newsletter I’ve been publishing for Cracked Mirror. Only, maybe someone would pay me?

Yeah, I’m dubious about the people paying me thing, too.

Anyway, just one of those passing thoughts . . .

I had a good friend in college who decide to be a food critic. He had a deep love of literature in high school, and did not know what to do with himself after he graduated, he took a year off and in the interim devolved a love for cooking. He went to culinary school, but realized he did not care to be a chef, so he left that and struck out free lance to be a food critic. In a lot of ways you actually remind me of him.

For the record I think you would make an excellent critic, you have a keen and objective way of looking at the world and from what I have observed you can be very concise and pithy.
