Rock-Con: What to run?

I feel like I should run a game at Rock-Con but I’ve been trying to decide what I should run.

I think running Amber would probably be a bad idea. In previous years, the RPGs at Rock-con have all been d20 games, either D&D or some other iteration. I’m not all that good at running d20 games, mostly because I get very hand-wavey with the rules, so I think that’s out. I certainly don’t want my first test run of 4E D&D to be at a convention. That seems like a train-wreck waiting to happen.

So, I need to run something simple but interesting. Over the Edge? FATE? Everway? Houses of the Blooded? Whispering Vault?

Running an ORE game, like Nemesis or Reign, could be interesting but that has the same problems as D&D: not enough rules mastery.

I’m leaning toward Everyway, frankly, because it’s diceless and fantasy with a fairly simple setup.

I think it would be really cool if you ran an Amber game, but can that be run it just one or two time slots? It seems to me that it is difficult to run any RPG in a convention setting.

An Amber game can be run in one time slot provided the players are moderately experienced with the game/setting and are focused.

I wouldn’t want to teach Amber in one convention slot, at least not a four hour one.

Also, I doubt there would be many people who would sign up for an Amber game. Besides yourself, of course.
