Homecoming Weekend

The weekend was busy. It was Homecoming weekend at the College and one of the high-schools, the high school had a class reunion, and it was also Alumni Weekend for the College. All of this resulted in my work schedule being shuffled around and, thus, I worked on Friday and Saturday.

Friday ended up being fairly quiet at work with a little pick-up at the end and Saturday was busy but not quite to the level that I was expecting. So, all in all, it wasn’t terribly exciting. Of course, I work in a bookstore; it’s not terribly exciting.  🙂

We rounded out the weekend by having brunch with some friends at their place, which was nice. We had corn pancakes that were quite tasty (and not at all like polenta) and just sat around and chatted. It was all very pleasant.

Then we hopped in the car and drove down to Rockford the D&D game. We picked up where we’d left off a couple months ago (it’s been a busy summer) by informing a dragon that there was a convoluted plot to conquer the world and then boarding an airship to go talk our national enemies into not starting World War II. No word yet. We’ll see how it goes.
