Warehouse 13

Okay, SciFi Channel (I refuse to use the new, stupid name) apparently has done something smart. Somewhere along the line they hired someone that knows how to find/make quirky SF shows that are actually amusing and watchable. First, Eureka and now Warehouse 13.

Lacking cable, or tv reception of any kind, I’ve been watching Warehouse 13 over on Hulu which suffers from obligatory commercials but, frankly, they’re a small price for the occasional amusement.

Anyway, back to Warehouse 13.

The show is quirky. It’s about a small group of government agents that collect dangerous artifacts, of a mystical or super-science nature, and put them somewhere safe. You know, so the public don’t get hurt or use the artifacts for naughty.

Really, the show is just wacky fun. It has little redeeming value but, damn, I just like the characters. You’ve got the old agent who knows all sorts of stuff but rarely shares it until absolutely necessary, the young techie chick who is always getting into trouble, and the two field agents who are still learning the ropes and muddling through. Occasionally, the show goes a little off the rails and becomes absolutely ridiculous but it isn’t too frequent and I think it’s forgivable considering it’s the show’s first season.

Anyway, if you get a chance, check it out. It’s amusing.

    i agree wholeheartedly!

i wish the lead female wouldn’t spend so much time with her brows pinched in confusion, but i’m sure she’ll get better…

I think that pinching her eyebrows together is a major way in which the actress expresses emotion, Dani. The fact that her character is frequently confused, puzzled, or annoyed just makes it more noticeable. 😉
